YOUR FUTURE FURBABY IS HERE, AKC PUREBRED SHIH TZU
Shih Tzu dogs are often considered one of the best companion breeds for a variety of reasons:
- Affectionate and Loyal: Shih Tzus are known for their affectionate nature and deep loyalty to their families. They bond closely with their owners and enjoy spending time with them, making them excellent companions.
- Friendly and Social: These dogs are friendly and get along well with people, children, and other pets. Their easy-going temperament makes them perfect for families and social households.
- Great for Small Spaces: Due to their small size, Shih Tzus are ideal for apartment living or homes with limited space. They are comfortable in smaller environments as long as they get enough attention and exercise.
- Low-Maintenance Exercise Needs: While Shih Tzus enjoy playtime and daily walks, their energy level is moderate, meaning they don’t require extensive exercise. This makes them great for people with a less active lifestyle or limited mobility.
- Hypoallergenic Coat: Shih Tzus have a non-shedding, long, silky coat that produces less dander, making them a good choice for allergy sufferers. Regular grooming can keep their coat looking beautiful and free of tangles.
- Adaptable and Easy to Train: Shih Tzus are intelligent and respond well to training, though they may have a slight independent streak. With positive reinforcement and patience, they are easy to teach basic commands and house manners.
- Cute and Charming Appearance: With their distinctive pushed-in face, large eyes, and long, flowing coat, Shih Tzus are undeniably cute and have an endearing, charming appearance that captivates anyone who meets them.
- Good Temperament: Generally, Shih Tzus have a calm and relaxed temperament, though they can still be playful. This makes them a great choice for individuals seeking a dog that is both loving and not overly excitable.
- Long Lifespan: Shih Tzus typically live long, healthy lives, often reaching 12 to 16 years, which means they can be a part of your family for many years to come.
- Low Barking Tendencies: While they will alert you if something unusual happens, Shih Tzus are generally not excessive barkers, which makes them ideal for those who prefer a quieter pet.
All of these qualities combine to make the Shih Tzu one of the most beloved dog breeds for people looking for a loyal, friendly, and low-maintenance companion.

Frequently Asked Questions
Where Do I Start
We Do not have a waiting list. So putting a deposit down is the only way to ‘hold’ or ‘reserve’ a puppy. We recommend contacting us before putting a deposit down. We will let you know when the next available litter will be and answer any questions.
How To Put Down A Deposit
The deposit amount is $300.00 and will go towards the total cost of the pup. A deposit is needed for each puppy you adopt. We accept many different forms of payments for a deposit. (Please contact us first, before placing a deposit down on a puppy.)
ZELLE – Our preferred payment type, as it is bank to bank.
CASH APP – Also used often and works well.
VENMO – We have used this before, but not preferred.
CHECK – We use this on occasions, but please know that the deposit is not valid until the check has cleared the bank.
CASH – This is only if you “pay in person”. No forms of virtual cash will be accepted.
PAYPAL – is not preferred because of the 3-4% Fees. If PayPal is used, this cost will be added.
With no waiting list, our deposit/contracts list will be used to “Reserve Your Place In Line”. It is a “First Come, First Serve/Pick” of the litter. Once a deposit is placed, we will contact you when the pup is born and let you pick which available puppy you want.
DEPOSITS ARE NOT REFUNDABLE FOR ANY REASON
Please know that taking on the responsibility of caring for a puppy is a big one…. this should not be a rash moment decision. This is a possibly a 12-16 year commitment.
Adoption Day
After a litter is born, we will contact you on a going home date. “Going Home” dates are typically within 8-9 weeks after the puppy is born.
We will not let our puppies leave their mommy before 8 weeks old. After the 9th week, we have a $35 boarding and care fee for each day that we care for the puppy. (Unless it has been discussed before hand)

3yr Health Guarantee
A 3-year health guarantee for a dog is an agreement between a breeder and a buyer that ensures the dog is free from certain hereditary health issues for three years from the date of purchase. The guarantee covers conditions that are genetic or congenital in nature and that affect the dog’s overall health and well-being. Here’s what it entails:
Key Features of a 3-Year Health Guarantee:
- Coverage of Hereditary Conditions: The health guarantee covers serious, inherited diseases or conditions that might affect the dog’s life, such as hip dysplasia, heart conditions, liver, genetic eye disorders, or other breed-specific health issues.
- Veterinary Examination: We require that our puppies undergo an initial veterinary exam shortly before adoption to confirm its health status. This ensures that the dog is healthy at the time of purchase. A Health Certificate is then Issued.
- Conditions and Exclusions: The guarantee will specify which conditions are covered and may list exclusions such as injuries, illnesses that develop due to the dog’s environment, or conditions that arise from neglect or poor care. Routine illnesses and injuries are generally not covered under this type of health guarantee.
- Replacement: If the dog is diagnosed with a covered hereditary condition within the first three years, we offer this remedy:
- To replace the dog with a puppy in the next available litter.
- Transfer of Guarantee: We do NOT allow the health guarantee to transfer if the dog is rehomed or sold during the guarantee period.
Considerations:
- Proper Documentation: To claim the health guarantee, you need to provide veterinary records, diagnoses, and other required documentation.
- Buyer’s Responsibility: The buyer must follow proper care guidelines for the dog, including regular vet visits and vaccinations, for the health guarantee to remain valid.
- Breeder’s Reputation: It’s important to ensure that CFSTP has a good reputation for responsible breeding practices, we do our utmost to work with each Buyer to find the right solution. We also have the right to refuse an adoption to a potential buyer that we deem unsafe or unhealthy for our puppies.
Each puppy will be microchipped before adoption. We only use AKC Re-Unite Microchips but are not preregistered. The buyer can register online with AKC Re-Unite, for a Lifetime Membership around $20.
Potty Trained?
For the puppy’s health and safety, we don’t take the puppies outside until they receive their first set of shot (8wks old). We keep our puppies in a pen, on pads, and change them throughout the day. Potty Training will need to be started by the new owner. We recommend crate training , but some prefer pads.
Our Adult dogs use a doggy door and they take themselves out when they want or need to. Our adult dogs roam free within the confines of our home and large backyard.
